- The student will be able to characterize the basic concepts of technical and special ceramics - The student will be able to formulate the basic techniques of preparation, properties, and use special and technical ceramics - The student will be able to describe the possibilities of modern technology and special technical ceramics

Summary

Multicomponents systems (glasscreating, ceramic). Non-traditional methods of glasses preparation, special glasses (for electrotechnics, electronics, optoelectronics, metal glasses, glass layer). Processes of technical and special ceramics preparation. Modified products of classic ceramics. Special ceramics (electroceramics, ferrits, superconductors, piezo-electricity materials, ceramic semiconductors, solid electrolyte). Constructional ceramics. Bioceramics.

Subject syllabus:

1) Glass Materials: Structure of the glassy state, the segregation glass making systems. 2) glass for special applications in electrical, electronics and optoelectronics. 3) Non-traditional methods of glass preparation. Glassy crystalline materials: Technology 4) The preparation, properties, utilization. Principles and techniques of training defined 5) ceramic materials. Sintering theory, the application. Oxide and functional nonoxid 6) ceramics for electronics (capacitors, dielectrics, ferrites, 7) piezoelectrics, semiconductors, solid electrolytes, superconducting ceramics). 8) ceramics - the main types, preparation. Single crystals. Bioceramics. 9) ceramic coatings.
