Summary
The course presents an overview of the basic terminology, mineralogical system and rocks from the perspective of silicate industry. It clarifies the definition, characteristics and functions of raw materials use for production of fine, coarse, technical ceramics and refractories, the raw material for the preparation of glass, glazes and mortar, including auxiliary and secondary materials too. The course also discusses basic principles raw materials properties determinations and basis from sphere of the mining, transport, storage, testing and treatment processes of raw materials.
