Summary

Properties of molten glasses and interpretation of melting processes (viscosity, crystallization, surface tension, thermal and electrical conductivity). Mechanism of glass melting procesThe course shows the basic principles and technological methods of preparation of industrial glass, glass ceramics, whiteware and kitchenware ceramic It points out the connection between the choice of production processes and the achievement of the desired product properties The course introduces the features and quality testing of those materialsses, description of technological processes (batch preparation, melting furnaces, hot forming and annealing of glass). The main types of commercial glasses, their properties. Glass-ceramic materials. Ceramics on basis of clay raw materials (porcelain, earthenware, stoneware, bricks).
