Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
Student will be able:
*describe environmental and working place influences of heating furnaces,
*analyse demands on heating system for basic types of industrial furnace,
*use furnace construction demands (steel reinforcement, brickworks) know-how,
*describe purpose, design a thermal regime of industrial furnaces.

Summary
Types of furnaces. The furnace as a result of technological, energy, material
and environmental requirements. Furnace characteristics in metallurgical,
machine, glass, ceramic, food and chemical industry. Heat balance of furnaces,
determination of basic characteristics of heating. Regimes of heating. New
directions in the furnace design.

Subject syllabus:
Furnace classification. Specifications of technology demands. Power management. Environmental issues, gaseous and solid emission, heta, noise. Thermal work characteristics, choice and calculation of heating regime. Heat balance and work indicating characteristics. Application of heat transfer mechanisms. Industrial furnace calcution method. Rationalization and progressive directions of furnace design.
