Summary

The content of the subject covers the field of thermostatics and thermodynamics of gases and vapours, thermal cycles of energy units and engines, energy and exergy balances and thermokinetics. The subject is aimed towards thermal engineering and power engineering. Particular topics are after agreement with the doctoral advisor developed in deails according to the focus of the doctoral work.

1. Basic concepts, the equation of state 2. Avogadro's law, a mixture of ideal gases 3. The first law of thermodynamics 4. Essential reversible processes of ideal gases 5. Thermal cycles, the Carnot cycle, comparison of cycles 6. The second law of thermodynamics, entropy 7. Irreversible cycles in praxis 8. Thermodynamics of steam, the basic thermodynamic processes of vapours 9. Moist air 10. The flow of gases and vapours 11. Cycles of real thermal machines 12. Compressors and cooling devices 13. Energy ands exergy
