- student will be able to characterize the basic concepts of kilns in the ceramics industry - student will be able to formulate the basic characteristics of the transmission phenomena. - student will be able to describe the possibilities of modern technology for drying and firing of ceramic materials

Summary

Types of furnace and heat apparatuses in ceramic and glass production. Characteristics of heat and mass transfer. Application on drying and firing of ceramics, melting and heat treatment of glass, processes in exchanger systems. Technological processes at drying, firing and melting. Mass and energy balances, application on technological processes at ceramic and glass production, Drying kilns for raw materials and products. Furnaces in cement, ceramic and glass industry.

Subject syllabus:

1) Division of furnaces and heating equipment in the manufacture of ceramics and glass. 2) The characteristics of portable effects. 3) Sharing of momentum, energy and matter - applications. 4) The technological processes of drying, burning and melting. 5) Dryer materials and products. 6) Ovens mortar: a rotating shaft. Clinker coolers. 7) Ceramic Kilns: periodic and continuous. 8) Furnaces glass: melting, cooling, tempering, and refining. 9) Structural elements of the furnaces. 10) Calculations of furnaces and dryers.
