Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
Extend students' knowledge in field thermodynamics homogenous systems. Solution of chemical equilibrium in heterogeneous systems. Identification and application phase equilibria in one and multicomponent systems.

Summary
Předmět definuje oboru termodynamiky heterogenních keramických systémů. Seznamuje studenty se zákonitostmi fázové stability keramických systémů, klade si za cíl osvojení pravidel interpretace vícelsožkových rovnovážných fázových diagramů. Pozornost je věnovaná schopnosti umět posuzovat korozní odolnost keramických systémů v místech jejich instalace.

Subject syllabus:
The first law of thermodynamics, the standard state, enthalpy, heat of reaction.
The heat capacity, heat of reaction dependence on temperature applications.
The second law of thermodynamics, entropy, energy functions F and G, the conditions of thermodynamic equilibrium.
1-component systems, the balance in them, and enantiotropní monotropní transformation. Polymorphic transformation first and 2 order.
The equilibrium constant of chemical reaction, its dependence on temperature. Alternative options determine the reaction enthalpy and Gibbs equilibrium constants. Applications for major types of reactions in heterogeneous systems.
Thermodynamic analysis of 2 - and 3-component systems.
Binary and ternary phase diagrams. Use of diagrams in the preparation of specific systems and applications of ceramic materials.
Richardson-Jeffesův diagram, solution reduction of oxides, nitrogen mutual stability and behavior under different partial pressure of oxygen, applications.
