Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Student is able to identify the secondary energy sources. He/she compares the sources in between – fuels, energy (enthalpy)/chill/heat, pressure. He/she will be able to describe the type of secondary sources in dependency with their occurrence in technology. He/she will be able to apply the obtain knowledge of secondary sources in his/her profession.

Teaching methods

Individual consultations
Project work

The course is focused on the basic characteristic and allocation the secondary energy sources. Describing the energy looses, energy potentials and also the fuel saving. The secondary energy source is defined through the secondary fuel, secondary enthalpy/heat/chill and secondary pressure. Exhaust-heat boilers, turbine, microturbine and heat pumps are described. The low-potential heat and utilization of energy from metals, coke and slags are described too.
