Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
Students will have a basic knowledge about the correct and safe establishment of gas supply facilities.
Students will have a comprehensive set of information not only about gas and gas devices, but also about related technical equipment.

Summary
Flammable gas as a fuel. History, the present and perspective of gaseous fuels use. Energy and environmental aspects of gasification. Natural resources and their character. Mining of a natural gas, transport, storage, liquefaction and distribution. Scheme of gas distribution and creation piping network. Transit pipelines, long-distance pipelines, local network. The use of gas in metallurgy (blast furnace, coke, converter, mixed), in industry and municipal areas (degassing, propane-butane and biogas). Properties of fuel gases. Gas engineering and advanced technology of gas use. Planning, control and balance gas consumption, gasholders and underground gas reservoir. Design and construction of gas devices.

4. Properties of fuel gases.
5. Energy and environmental aspects of gasification.
6. Extraction of natural gas, purification and liquefaction.
7. Transport of gases.
8. Gases storage and distribution of gases.
9. Scheme of gas distribution and creation piping network. Transit pipelines, long-distance pipelines, local network.
10. Gas energetic and modern technologies of gas utilization in metallurgy and transport.
11. Regulation of gas pressure and its measurement, piping of combustion products away.
12. Planning, control and balance of gas consumption.
13. Design and construction of gas devices.
14. Safety at work - overview of valid regulations.
