Summary

he aim of the subject is to present to the auditorium the state of the evaluation of defectoscopy of material. First of all the ability to form the defects in material will be shown. The natural content of defects will be compared with the posibility to detect and to evaluate the critical defect size in the structures. The start of the evaluation proces is concentrated on the surface defects. There the main possibilities are the penetration method and the magnetic metod. Also the eye observation is not so incorrect. Then, the through body raditation methods are comming into account. The ultrasonic techniques are exelent and very usefull in this case. Further, the other technics are comming into the consideration. For the thinner products the X – ray radiation is relevent, for thicker products the finer (and more expensive methods) are available. We touch the radiation of shorter wave size as the β- radiation and the γ – radiation. In conclusion, the basic fracture mechanics is introduced as well as the application of fracture mechanics to the evaluation of defects in material.
