Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The student will get an overview of basic types of metallic and non-metallic materials. They will learn to define the crystalline structure and the grid breakdown of metallic materials and the bonding of polymeric materials. Student can master basic types of binary diagrams, Fe-C diagram and transformation diagrams. He gains knowledge of special metal materials. They master the problems of structural design and structure influence on mechanical properties, including their evaluation. They will learn to characterize basic types of polymeric materials.
