Summary
The course is dealing with elementary principles of technical materials,
eapecially metallic materials. The main topics of the course are: crystalline
materials, solidification of pure metals and alloys, equilibrium binary
diagrams, classification of iron based alloys and heat treatment of alloys.
Furthermore, attention is paid to advanced materials, e.g. technical ceramics,
metallic glass, polymers and composites.
