Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

- Define the classification of joining materials. Outline demontable and undemontable joints. - Clarify the new techniques of joioning materials - welding,soldering, sticking, mechanical joints and special joining methods. - Describe welding methods of materials. - Define weldability. - Outline the internal structure and properties of welded joint - weld metal, heat affected zone. Evaluation of defects. - Clarify the selection and using of joint. Describe criteria for selection of joininng technology.

· Fázové diagramy a jejich využití při spojování materiálů · Hodnocení svařitelnosti a metody jejího stanovení · Ruční obloukové svařování a metodika jejího provádění · Svařování pod tavidlem a způsoby jejího použití · Elektrostruskové svařování a způsoby provedení · Metody navařování austenitické nerezavějící vystýlky · Způsoby tepelného zpracování svarových spojů po svařování nebo navařování · Hodnocení defektnosti svarových spojů a způsob vyhodnocení · Letování jako varianta spojování materiálu za tepla · Metody obrábění kovových povrchů · Vliv jednotlivých parametrů obrábění na kvalitu hotového povrchu a velikost vneseného pnutí.

Subject syllabus:

Lectures - Introduction. The principle of mechanical machining methods. - Parameters affecting the mechanical machining and their influence on surface quality. - The principle of joining materials, removable (bolted joints, wedge joints, etc.) and permanent joining (welding, soldering, etc.) - overview, examples - Fusion welding. The physical basis of the process. The essence of the arc. Melting and transfer of metal electrodes in an arc. - Structure and properties of welded joints - weld metal, heat affected zone, metallurgical defects. - Blacksmith welding, flame welding, arc welding - principles, application examples - Electroslag welding, resistance welding, laser welding - principles, using. - Metallurgical factors determining quality of welded joints, weldability tests, cutting oxygen. - Heat treatment of steel before welding, during welding and heat treatment of weldments. - Control of welded joints, faults and joints in the surfacing and their classification according to ISO standards. - Soft and hard soldering - principles, applications. The principles of bonding, testing of adhesives and bonded joints, glued joints disorders. - Degradation of the properties of joints (manufacturing, service). Access to the expertise and the causes of joints and welded construction accidents. Practice - Preliminary exercises. The principle of joining materials. - Demountable joints - screw, wedge, etc. - Permanent joints - welding, soldering, bonding – examples. - Evaluation of the macrostructural characteristics of welded joints. - Evaluation of the microstructural characteristics of welded joints. - Control of welded joints, welded joints defects and their evaluation according to ISO standards. - Control of weldability of steel - carbon equivalent steels susceptible to cracking, the calculation of temperatures and times of early diffusion changes. - Heat treatment of steel before, during and after welding. - Degradation mechanisms of weld joints and selection of the suitable arrangements for avoid them. - Delivery of the specified programs.
