Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Get to know the basic of corrosion processes and ways of protecting materials against corrosion. To characterize the causes and laws of corrosion of materials and be able to determine the parameters of major types of corrosion - uniform, pitting, intergranular, and stress corrosion cracking. To acquaint students with the calculations thermodanamics and kinetics of corrosion in connection with the life time of components.
