Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
To extend the knowledge of students about practical aspects of the branch study. Practice will improve students´abilities to prepare a written report dealing with technical and technological pieces of information. The aim of the course is a direct contact of students with industriel companies or research laboratories. Knowledge gained during the practice can help students in making decisions about their further professional carrier.

Summary
Student will learn of professional activities of production, research or educational organisation dealing with metallurgy or materials engineering. A part of the course can be visits in metallurgical or engineering companies in the Czech Republic. Student will summarise the gained knowledge in the form of the report. The aim of the course is to combine theoretical knowledge with practical experience in the branch study.

Papers in professional journals and publications fitting with the activities of the organisation, where the educational stay takes place.

Subject syllabus:
1.Student will inform the tutor about the work plan before the start of an educational stay and hands over information about a contact person.
2. Student will announce the start of the educational stay on the first day.
3. Student will execute the stay in accordance with agreed terms. In the case of objections preventing to get through the stay student will immediately inform the tutor.
4. Student will announce termination of the stay and will deliver the following documents: certificate about the educational stay, evaluation of the student by a contact person and the report about the progress of the educational stay.
