-Define the importance and classification of engineering materials.
-Clarify the effect of steel purity and heat treatment on the high-fracture characteristics.
-Define the characteristics of high-strength steels.
-Describe principles of corrosion and heat resistence of structural materials.
-Compare the technical important types of non-ferrous metals.
-Chracterize the basic types of ceramic materials.
-Define composite materials.
