Summary

The subject gives an interpretation of the design philosophy currently used in the design, interpretation of the aging processes that cause changes in the properties of materials, structures and components during long-term operation, a description of the main degradation mechanisms that can occur during long-term operation lead to loss of structural integrity. Following are lectures explains the basic methods of how these processes control and manage and allows the audience to understand the connection between the structural material, its properties and safety components that are made from this material. The lecture includes many technical applications, methods, failure analysis function of some selected device and illustrates procedures of corrective measures both in operational decisions as well as in the innovation cycle.
