Summary

The course focuses on important groups of materials that are used as main components of renewable energy equipment, namely: wind power plants, photovoltaic power plants, hydropower plants, geothermal energy systems, fuel cells and biomass processing plants. It will briefly highlight the technology, main components of the technological units and materials from which the components are produced. In the course students will get acquainted with the kinds of materials, their chemical composition, internal structure and properties in relation to each other, as well as with the possible degradation mechanisms of the materials used.
