Teaching methods

Summary

Powder metallurgy represents a progressive technology of production of structural and functional materials, which cannot be made by classical procedures. It is also possible to process by powder metallurgy classical materials in order to increase utilisation of materials and reduction of production costs. Powder metallurgy is used among others for production of a broad range of materials for electrical engineering (contact materials, metals difficult to fuse, magnetic materials, etc.). Within the frame of studies for the Master’s degree increased attention is paid to theoretical bases of sintering processes.

Subject syllabus:

Přednosti a omezení technologie práškové metalurgie. Metody výroby kovových prášků, fyzikální, chemické a mechanické postupy výroby. Charakteristika práškových materiálů, určování velikosti a tvaru, fyzikální vlastnosti, technologické vlastnosti. Principy postupu tvarování práškových materiálů, lisování jednosměrné, obousměrné, isostatické. Slinování prášku, teoretické základy různých variant slinovacích procesů, slinování v jednosložkovém a vícesložkovém systému. Materiály připravované technologií práškové metalurgie (výrobky na bázi železa a neželezných kovů, slinuté karbidy, kluzné materiály, frikční materiály, kovové filtry, kontaktní materiály, magnetické materiály, tvrdé a supertvrdé materiály).
