Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Student will be able after the graduation of this subject to: - define this very prospective group of materials, - write up the preferences and inadequacies of individual progresses of the production of nanomaterials, - describe individual application areas of nanomaterials, - classify and clear up individual technology of processing of nanomaterials to the compact body, - evaluate and apply piece of knowledge from theory of forming on production nanomaterials using processes of high - powered mechanical working

Summary

Student becomes acquainted with the influence of geometric proportions on properties of solid state materials, relationship between micro-technologies and nano-technologies, characteristics of nanosystems, methods of preparation and processing of nanomaterials, basic characteristics of nanostructured materials and examples of the application of nanomaterials.

Subject syllabus:

Influence of geometric proportions on characteristics solid state materials, relationship between micro-technology and nano-technology. Physics of nanostructures, interatomic potential. Characteristics of nanosystems. Methods of the preparation of nanomaterials, forming technologies, processes of condensing and mechanical alloying, preparation of nanomaterials using powder metallurgy in electric field. Chemical method of preparation of nanomaterials, pulse laser method, pyrolysis, application HF generated plasma. PVD, CVD, epitaxy. Characteristics of nanostructured materials, chemical, mechanical, optical, magnetic, electron transport properties. Examples of the application of nanomaterials.
