Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

In this subject, the student gets to know physical principles of electrical conductivity of materials, magnetism, its forms, material types and development trends. Further topic is aimed at materials based on intermetallic compounds, their structure, modification possibilities of their physical and physical-metallurgical characteristics. The description of shape memory effect, material variants, applications.

Summary

Semiconductor materials, their characterization and technological aspects of preparation. Superconductors, the characterization of superconductivity, the preparation of superconductors. Magnetic materials, their properties, preparation methods, development trends. Amorphous materials, single crystals of refractory metals. Materials for high-temperature applications, intermetallic compounds based on Ti-Al, Ni-Al. Gradient materials, their characterization, overview of properties, applications, technological aspects of preparation.

1.-3.Magnetic materials, soft snd hard magnets, their properties, preparation methods, development trends. 4. Metallic glasses. 5. Electric resistance materials. 6. Materials for electric contacts. 7. Materials for thermocouples. 8. Materials for high-temperature applications. Single crystals of refractory metals. 9. Intermetallic compounds based on Ni-Al, Ti-Al, Fe-Al. Gradient materials, their characterization, overview of properties, applications, technological aspects of preparation. 10. Dispersion hardning alloys based on Ni, Fe, Mg and Al. Technologies and properties of materials. 11. Hard metals. Classifications, properties and technologies. 12. Superconductors, the characterization of superconductivity, the preparation of superconductors. 13. Semiconductor materials, their characterization and technological aspects of preparation.
