Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
Student will be able to
- use more coplicated of office programs functions;
- use spredscheets for numerical mathematic tasks solving;
- to build a basic hypertext applications;
- to build a basic database application.
Teaching methods
Summary
Course proposes students with software of personal computer as a tool for
assistance of creative engineering work. It aquatints them with advanced work
with word processor, spreadsheet, principles of work with graphics information,
working with hypertext and using database systems

Subject syllabus:
1 to 2 Advanced work with a text editor. Text formatting, paragraph styles, document formatting. Templates and guides, gallery style, creating and editing styles. Mail Merge automation with macros.
2 to 3 Advanced techniques for working with spreadsheets. Graphical presentation of data, views, publishing data in WWW. Lists, sorting data, filtering data form summaries. Contingency tables. Analytical tools, scenarios, searching of a solution, the solver. Macros and basics of programming in Visual Basic.
Presentations building. Creating the appearance of the presentation, style checking, use the slide master, working with diagrams. Working in different views. Working with slides, adding and formatting text, formatting paragraphs. Drawing and working with objects. Work with formulas, tables and graphs. Starting and management of the presentations.
5th Theory of database systems, modeling of reality, data models, view of reality and relationships between entities. Types of data models. Conceptual diagram. ER model. Physical organization of data.
6th Microsoft Access database, run a program, create a new database, open an existing database, close the database, end programu.Access main window, use the mouse, the menu bar, toolbar, dialog box control wizards, database window, window object database.
7th Working in the table, the data sheet and move it, add a new record, edit an existing entry, data interference in the data sheet, data search, exchange, work with columns, set the appearance of cells. Edit the table structure, create additional tables, relationships between tables.
8th Forms, automatic form, Form Wizard, creating forms using Design view, change forms. Print data- reports, automatic report, Report Wizard, create a report using design view, edit and print reports. Selecting data filters and queries.
9th Fundamentals of language HyperText Markup Language (HTML). Page structure, paragraph writing.
10th Image formats, insert a picture. Uniform Resource Locator, Links on the Sites, a relative URL. Links to the document, the function of pages.
11th Formatting. Titles, website structure, numbered, bulleted list. A list of definitions, preformatted text.
12th Tables, cell attributes, line attributes and tables. Frames and their structure. Content of frames, mutual cooperation. Forms and their functions. Simple input elements, complex input elements. CGI output and input.
13th HTTP protocol. Question - answer, datakeepers, recycled connection. Animation Site, blinking, animated GIF, pseudoanimace HTTP, Java, Javascript.
14th Cascading style definitions, fonts, text properties, block and his friends, block features, formatting pages, working with the list. Navigation, links around the page, navigation bar, content.
