Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Student will be able to formulate the basic terms of system theory and system applications. Student will be able to identify characteristics and behaviour of static a dynamic systems. Student will be able to analyze problems of mathematical description and behaviour of static a dynamic systems.

Summary

Subject introduces to basic terms of system theory and system applications. Methods and tools for system identification are discussed. Students will gain a basic overview of the mathematical description, properties and behaviour of static and dynamic systems (graph theory - code description of matrix systems, CPM method, Laplace transform, static and dynamic characteristics). In practice students are introduced to Boolean algebra of logic basis, methods of mathematical description, minimisation and modelling of logic systems.

Subject syllabus:

1. Basic concepts of systems theory. 2. Subsystems and sub-systems hierarchy. 3. Behaviour of the system, its status and characteristics. 4. Classification of systems according to various aspects. 5. Model, identification, modelling and simulation of systems. 6. Control of systems. - general principle of control, types of control. 7. Static systems - mathematical description, examples of static systems. 8. Graph theory - basic concepts, code system description by matrices. 9. Critical Path Method (CPM). 10. Dynamic systems - mathematical description, examples of dynamic systems. Basic dynamic characteristics. 11. Laplace transformation - basic properties, solution of linear differential equations using Laplace transformation, transfer of continuous functions. 12. Static and dynamic properties of dynamic of systems. 13. Classification of systems according to order of linear differential equations. 14. Logic Systems - fundamentals of Boolean algebra of logic, basic rules of logic functions modelling, minimisation of logic functions.
