Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

- The student will be able to characterize the different measurement principles of state variables, which are typical for operating practices as well as laboratory equipment, - The student will be able to formulate the basic principles and applications of sensors for non-electrical quantities and the basic concepts and principles in the field of automatic control and data collection technology, - The student will be able to use their knowledge to determine the appropriateness of the sensors for a particular type of application to be respected advantages and disadvantages with respect to operating conditions and costs of implementation, - The student will be able to apply their theoretical knowledge to draft appropriate adjustments of measurement and management of specialized technologies.

Summary

Students will be competent to assess the degree of relevance of the information provided by sensors sensing operating parameters of the technology, methods and principles of automatic collection of process variables and methods of automatic control, on the basis of which they will be able to correctly identify the key actions to improve the reliability and quality of production.

Elaborating project on a given theme: - From field measurements and process variables - The project will be monitored by the teacher within 14 days after submission Passing the final test - Results of the test will be communicated to students after graduation.

Subject syllabus:

1. Basic concepts and content of the course 2. Sensors for temperature measurement (principles, applications, accuracy, reliability, price) 3. Sensors for measuring pressure (principles, applications, accuracy, reliability, price) 4. Sensors for flow and level (principles, applications, accuracy, reliability, price). 5. Sensors for measuring pH and conductivity (principles, applications, accuracy, reliability, price). 6. Sensors for measuring the concentration and moisture and oxygen activity (principles, applications, accuracy, reliability, price). 7. Sensors suitable for Nanotechnology (principles, applications, accuracy, reliability, price). 8. Methods of capture, transmission, and processing of data DAQ. 9. Controlled system, control system, control and feedback control, basic control circuits. 10. Function of control circuit block diagrams. 11. Controllers, their properties and performance. 12. Accuracy, stability and optimal setting of the control circuits. 13. The use of computers and PLC control in automated control systems. 14. The issue of optimal control, the role of computer models in the design, implementation and operation of automated control systems for technological processes.
