Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The students who will graduate this subject will:  acquire basic knowledge in the branch of testing and as well as of related subjects standardisation, metrology, certification and accreditation;  orientate in the Czech system of state quality control as well as analogous principles applied in the European Union;  master in practical point of view the work with a technical standard of testing methods and be able to create a simple procedure corresponding this standard;  acquaint with the principles of estimation of measurement uncertainty of simple testing methods;  visit a real testing laboratory.

Summary

Technical standardisation and working in the national, regional and international organisations. Making an audience familiar with the integral part of the products rating in the system of their flow from manufacturers to customers and with the whole complex of activities, that are directly following the main one, which is the testing of their character. Measurement and calibration. Certification of personal, product and quality system. Certification in the test and calibration laboratories. Qualification of the test laboratories, acreditation including. Conformity assessment both the regulated and the non-regulated areas.Validation of test, analytical and calibratted methods as a key to testing quality.Uncertainty in testing and calibration.

1. Basic of testing. 2. Testing methods in material engineering. 3. Technical standardisation and working in the national, regional and international organisations. 4. Calibration and metrology. 5. Certification. 6. Qualification of the test laboratories, acreditation including. 7. Conformity assessment both the regulated and the non-regulated areas 8. Validation. Validation and standardisation. 9. Uncertainties in testing and calibration. 10. Audits and inspection in testing and calibration laboriatories.
