Student will be able • to characterize and classify suitable methods of quality planning • to identify suitable methods for various situations • to apply selected quality planning methods • to interpret achieved results and to propose suitable actions.

Summary

The aim of the course is to learn the basic techniques and methods of quality planning. Attention is paid to the processes of planning quality of products and processes, and selected methods that increase the efficiency of their implementation, such as QFD, design review, FMEA, measurement systems analysis, processes and machines capability analysis and to the group of seven new quality management tools.

Combined exam. Elaboration of 2 seminar work. Accomplishment of test and the credit test. Participation in seminars (80%).

1. Content and importance of quality planning. 2. Quality planning according to family of standards ISO 9000. Quality plans. 3. Methodologies of product quality planning. 4. QFD and its use. House of Quality. Four-matrices approach to QFD. 5. Design Review. 6. Minimizing the risks of potential failures with using Failure Mode and Effect Analysis. Design FMEA. Process FMEA. 7. Process capability analysis and machine capability analysis. 8. Process capability indices and their interpretation. Estimation of probability of nonconforming products occurrence. 9. Statistical properties of measurement systems. 10. Seven new quality management tools and their use for quality planning. Affinity diagram. Interrelationship diagram. 11. Systematic diagram. Matrix diagram. PDPC diagram. 12. Matrix data analysis, numerical and graphical methods. 13. Network diagram and its use. Time slakes. Gantt diagram. 14. Methodology of quality improvement. PDCA cycle. Quality Journal methodology.
