Summary
The subject is focused to the mastering of selected methods of quality planning and improvement. In the quality planning field attention is paid to the methodical approaches to product quality planning and to selected methods of quality planning, as QFD, FMEA, process capability analysis and seven new quality management tools. In the field of quality improvement attention is paid to the methodology of improvement, seven basic quality management tools, statistical process control and acceptance sampling.

1. Present development in the quality management field.
2. The importance of quality planning. Methodical approaches and requirements in the field of quality planning
3. Selected quality planning methods. QFD. Transformation of customer requirements to the product quality characteristics. House of Quality.
4. Potential failures risks minimisation with using FMEA. Design FMEA. Process FMEA
5. Process capability analysis. Process capability indices and their interrelations.
6. Seven new quality management tools. Affinity diagram, interrelationship diagram, matrix diagram.
7. Seven new quality management tools. Matrix data analysis, PDPC diagram.
8. Seven new quality management tools. Network diagram.
9. Methodical approaches to the quality improvement. PDCA cycle. Quality Journal method.
10. Seven basic quality management tools. Flowchart. Cause-effect diagram.
11. Data form. Pareto analysis.
12. Histogram in quality management. Scatter diagram.
13. Control charts. Principles of statistical process control. Control charts for variables and attributes.
14. Fundamentals of acceptance sampling. Types of sampling plans. Efficiency of sampling plans. Producer´s and consumer´s risk.
