Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Student will be able: -to distinguish individual types of solid, liquid and gaseous fuels, -to characterize representative sampling procedures prior to fuel analysis, -to describe the most common separation methods for the fractionation of carbohydrate samples, -to explain principles of classical methods of mineral, textural, mechanical, thermal-physical and petrographic analyses, -to characterize utilization of spectrographic methods in analysis of fuels, -to describe methods of determination of physical-chemical characteristics of liquid and gaseous fuels, -to compare utilization of instrumental methods of analysis of liquid and gaseous fuels.

Teaching methods

Individual consultations

Students will be acquainted with methods of solid, liquid and gaseous fuels analysis including procedures of representative sampling, separation and sample preparation techniques prior to analysis itself. Attention will be paid to analysis of chemical, physical-chemical, textural and mechanical characteristics as well as modern instrumental methods of fuels analysis.
