Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
Graduate of the subject is able to define relevant parameters of nanomaterials contributing to their environmental and health risks. Futher, he/she can explain potential transport and exposure routes of nanomaterials, their potential biotransformation and bioaccumulation within their life cycle. Graduate is able to discuss single aspects of air, water and soil pollution and also the topic of occupational safety of nanomaterials and nanomaterials in form of wastes. Furthermore, he/she can generally describe potential adverse effects of exposure of living organisms to nanomaterials on molecular, cellular and organ level. With respect to nanomaterials applications he/she is able to outline possible ethical issues of selected applications and pre-application assessment of nanomaterials and also to describe legislative framework of this topic.
