- student will be able to summarize pros and cons of conventional technologies of materials forming - student will be able to describe main parameters influencing final properties of materials formed - student will be able to identify impacts of termomechanical parameters controlling to materials forming

Summary

The aim of this subject is to describe influence of temperature conditions, as well as of time dwells in concrete forming technologies, on structure and, above all, mechanical properties of formed materials. Attention is given to forming accompanying processes, such as softening and hardening processes, as well. Among others, most common procedures of non-ferrous metals thermomechanical processing are discussed.

Subject syllabus:

Controlled forming characteristics, basic methods of thermomechanical processing, controlled rolling. Mechanical properties of controlled formed products. Structure development during controlled forming. Physical and metallurgical processes during thermomechanical forming. Problem of precipitation and other hardening processes. Softening processes during thermomechanical forming processes characteristic. Interaction of hardening and softening processes, precipitation kinetics, recrystallisation kinetics, grain growth. Types of recovery processes description, microstructural effects accompanying structure recovery processes Controlled forming of microalloyed steels, austenitic steels, TRIP steels, ULCB steels, high-alloyed steels. Basic parameters of controlled forming, specific controlled forming processes (SHT, HDR, HCR). Problems of controlled cooling. Controlled cooling of wires in rolling mills industrial conditions. 1Application of lab and computer simulations possibilities in thermomechanical forming. Division of thermomechanical forming according to influence of forming temperature interaction with softening and hardening processes. Thermomechanical forming methods of alpha Ti alloys and alloys with near alpha Ti composition. Thermomechanical forming methods of beta Ti alloys and alloys with near beta Ti composition. Methods of Al alloys thermomechanical forming, methods for mechanical properties increasing.
