Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

- the student will be able to characterise the new, advanced technologies for ; forming of metallic materials (of high-melting metals, promising steels, materials prepared by powder metallurgy) - the student will be able to formulate and technically use the basic mechanical and physical processes at application of unconventional forming technologies, - the student will be able to calculate and simulate the power parameters of advanced forming technologies, to predict the limit states of stress and strain at application of unconventional forming technologies, - the student will be able to choose the advantageous advanced forming technologies for processing of unconventional (new) materials.

Teaching methods

Individual consultations
Experimental work in labs

The course focuses on the theoretical and practical aspects of the application of advanced forming technologies at processing of conventional and new metallic materials. Attention is paid particularly to the preparation of ultra-fine grained and nano-structural materials by severe plastic deformation, to advanced forming technologies using high parameters, to isothermal and super-plastic forming and to analysis of the structure and properties of materials obtained with the use of advanced forming technologies. Attention is also paid to the theoretical analysis of the physical nature of advanced forming technologies.
