Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Students will be able to describe the recycling technologies, their characteristics, distribution-enumeration of waste recycling processes - hydrometallurgical, pyrometallurgical and combined methods of processing of materials containing metals and non-metallic materials, refining of the obtained products - enumerating ecological and economic aspects of modern recycling technologies, current situation and recycling technology in the Czech Republic.

Summary

The content of the subject is summarized in the basic topics concerning the technological and ecological aspects of material recycling. The selection of chapters will be carried out in consultation with the supervisor with respect to the focus of the doctoral dissertation. Basic themes: Materials recycling, advanced recycling technology, recycling of metallic materials, recycling of non-metallic materials, biorecycling technology, thermal recycling processes, tertiary recycling, aerobic and anaerobic digestion, vermicomposting. Modification of existing recycling technologies. Ecological aspects of utilization of metal-bearing wastes in metal production. Modern Wastewater Technology and BAT Applications.

Introduction to Materials Recycling. Basic definition and distribution of recycling technologies. Recycling legislation. Comparison of modern and classic recycling technologies. Technology of processing hazardous materials in wastes. Technology of thermal decomposition, pyrolysis and plasma. Biowaste processing technology. Biodegradation processes. Combustion waste processing technology. Technology for the treatment of unusable waste. Recycling technologies usable in industries. Recycling and regranulation technology. Alternative wasteless technologies.
