- student will be able to define basic terms from the field of waste management - student will be able to describe basic methods of waste utilization and disposal - student will be able to characterize the basic procedures for obtaining secondary raw materials and their application - the student will be able to apply his theoretical knowledge in the field of waste management

Summary

Předmět je zaměřen na problematiku charakterizace odpadů a nakládání s nimi. Jsou popsány základní postupy pro využití a odstranění odpadů. Dále je uveden přehled základních technologií pro zpracování vybraných nekovových a kovových odpadů. Z jednotlivých postupů zpracování odpadů jsou definovány získané produkty včetně druhotných surovin získaných z procesů recyklace a možnosti jejich následné aplikace. Podrobněji jsou charakterizovány komunální odpady, bioodpady a vybrané průmyslové odpady. Také jsou definovány i omezující faktory pro zpracování odpadů, získávání a využití druhotných surovin.

Subject syllabus:

Waste - the basic terms, types of waste. Waste management, legislation in WM. Procedures for minimizing waste generation. Waste utilization methods. Waste disposal methods. Overview of technologies for processing non-metallic waste - examples of the application of secondary raw materials. Overview of technologies for the processing of metal and metal-bearing waste - examples of the application of secondary raw materials. Issues of municipal waste - characteristics of waste, possibilities of their utilization. Specifics of bio-waste management - characteristics of waste, possibilities of their utilization. Selected industrial wastes – characteristics of waste, possibilities of their utilization. Limiting factors for waste processing, obtaining and utilization secondary raw materials. Environment and waste. Hazardous waste. Possibilities and procedures for reducing the negative impact of waste generation on the environment, circular economy.
