Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
The student will be able to:
- characterize the processes of preparation of advanced materials, especially on the basis of non-ferrous metals.
- describe innovative production technologies of conventional and special materials
- describe applications of selected material technologies in various industries - energy, transport and aerospace industries, medicine, electrical engineering and electronics, etc.

Předmět je zaměřen na inovativní materiálové technologie, aplikované v průmyslu ve výrobě speciálních materiálů a komponent. Předmět bude probíhat formou prezentací a diskuze k danému tématu. Budou zváni odborníci z praxe, kteří poskytnou reálný náhled na danou oblast přípravy materiálů a obohatí výuku o praktické poznatky.

Subject syllabus:
Progressive technology for the production of alloys and compounds with specific properties:
1. Melting technologies (ISM process, centrifugal casting, electron beam zone melting, plasma metallurgy, Bridgman's method, Czochralski's method, melt spinning, strip casting, squeeze casting, etc.).
2. Technologies of powder metallurgy (atomization, press + sinter, isostatic hot pressing, metal injection molding, rolling, extrusion, etc.).
3. Additive Manufacturing Technologies (stereolithography, selective laser sintering, direct metal laser sintering, fused deposition modelling, laminated object manufacturing, etc.).
