Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Student will well informed in principles and conceptions using for operative, tactical and strategic operations management, will be able to analyses, evaluate, design and improve production processes, use methods and tools of the production planning and control, capacity planning and inventory control in production processes.

Summary

The subject is focused on the management of production processes using advanced managerial decision-making tools. Sub-sections are devoted to modern tools, methods and concepts for managing and optimizing production systems at all managerial levels. The orientation is also focused on the use of tools based on fuzzy logic, genetic algorithms and neural networks in the production control process.

Elaboration of seminar work on a given topic. Knowledge of all key concepts, principles, methods and tools according to the subject's curriculum.

Subject syllabus:

1. Manufacturing process management - objectives, principles, main and support activities. 2. Pull and push system - principle, material flow management concept, MRP, ERP, JIT, Kanban. 3. Levels of management (strategic, tactical, operational) - goals, tools, links. 4. Tools for designing production processes and production areas and their use. 5. Production process planning - Advanced production planning tools (APS / SCM Systems). 6. Four basic planning algorithms of APS - ATP, AATP, CTP, PTP. 7. Mathematical modeling in process control systems of production systems. 8. Use of artificial intelligence tools in production control (fuzzy logic, genetic algorithms, neural networks). 9. Agile supply chains, principle, chain building, risks, tools, links to production processes. 10. Industry Concept 4.0. - principle, focus, tools. 11. Digitization of production processes - definition, implementation process, risks, links to other segments of the production organization. 12. Automation and robotics in production conditions - possibilities of utilization, alternative solutions of production processes, substitution of basic production operations. 13. Advanced tools for production quality control, advanced identification technology.
