Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Students will know the relationships in corporate economic management, they will be able to characterize the property and capital structure of enterprises and to analyse the cost and revenue items of the company, they will be aware of the methods of financial analysis and will be able to define and characterize the basic activities related to planning in the company.

Summary

The course is focused on partial study areas that follow up the knowledge of the business and managerial economics with regard to the specifics of metallurgical, mechanical engineering and chemical production.

Subject syllabus:

1. Economic system of the industrial company, analysis of the basic elements and links. 2. Financial statements: balance sheet, profit and loss statement, cash flow statement - definition, importance. 3. The basic methods of economic system analysis in connection with the specifics of industrial production. 4. Accounting as part of the industrial organization information system - definition, importance. 5. Industrial Company operating cycle. 6. Costs, revenues, economic result and cash flow – analysis, influencing factors in connection with the specifics of industrial production. 7. Activities related to planning of the industrial company. 8. Evaluation of company effectiveness, including the investment evaluation – the basic influencing factors. 9. Ways of improving industrial company economy.
