Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The aim of the course is to show students the possibilities and opportunities they can expect during their studies. Familiarize them with the study environment at the university and introduce them to the complexity of the study program from the point of view of innovation, design and regulatory requirements relating to medical devices.

Summary

In the form of seminars and excursions, the subject familiarizes students with the structure of the university, where teaching will take place, and at the same time presents the activities and projects that are solved at the university. A large part of the course is the completion of field trips at companies and the inclusion of presentations on selected topics. During the introductory lessons of the course, students will also be introduced to the teachers and the study program will be presented to them in more detail.

Subject syllabus:

As part of this subject, students will go on field trips to the workplaces of VŠB-TU Ostrava, where they will be introduced to the equipment of cooperating workplaces and current topics related to the study program. At the same time, students will be presented with selected lectures by external experts related to the issue of placing medical devices on the market.
