To gain view of development of new scientific findings and their relation to development of technology in main branches of industry, most of all then of student’s own specialization

Summary

Course gives a brief view of basic issues of science and technology development from the beginning of man history up till present. It provides a view of development of scientific findings in relation to development of technology, which is observed from the point of its level in main industries. History of science and technology are substantial part of human history. Mutual social, economical and political links influencing this area enable better understanding of development of technical problem within socioeconomic context.

1. úvodní seminář, seznámení se se strukturou předmětu, studijní literatura 2. Středověký a novověký svět řemesel 3. Technika v hornictví 4. Vývoj výroby železa a oceli 5. Způsoby dopravy a jejich vývoj 6. Využití parní energie 7. Počátky výzkumů elektrických jevů a první praktická použití elektřiny 8. Výroba elektrické energie 9. Elektrotechnika v historickém vývoji 10. Počátky elektroniky a její rozvoj 11. Svět počítačů 12. Jaderná energetika a alternativní zdroje energie 13. Československé fortifikační stavitelství a podíl strojírenství na něm. 14. Závěrečný seminář, zhodnocení prací studentů.
