Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The objective of the course is to make student familiar with provisions in force concerning status and functioning of mass media within the society. By completing the course student will acquire knowledge of rules set by law for social relations in the field of journalism and communication media and will get necessary information closely connected with journalistic occupation

In the course student will get to know: a) legal system in journalism b) principles of functioning of legally consistent state c) role of mass media as the third pillar of democracy d) legal framework of right on freedom of speech realization, searching and distributing of information e) legal matter of protection of personality

Syllabus: a) the system of law in journalism, b) the principles of the rule of law, c) the role of mass media as the third pillar of democracy, d) legal framework for implementation of the rights of freedom of speech, search and dissemination of information, e) the legal issue of protection of personality.
