Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
The aim of this subject is to enrich students with essential knowledge of general psychology. Students will be introduced to the basic psychological schools and research methods, they will become familiarised with the core topics of perception, memory, learning, thinking, emotion, motivation, psychology of personality and they will get acquainted with the problematics of resilience and mental health disorders. They will acquire basic terminology of psychology and gain the ability to understand the expression of human emotions. Integral part of this course will also be practical demonstration of psychological methodology, such as a questionnaire or a test. After attending this course, students will be able to understand and value the importance of human psyche, mental health and personality.

TAUGHT ONLY IN CZECH To explore the full range of psychology, from cell to
society. To foster scientific attitudes and help our students learn to think
critically by examining the ways thet psychologists have solved, or failed to
solve fascinating puzzles of behavior and processes.We have incorporated
frequent references to pract.application of psychol. research to practice.
