Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Demonstrate an understanding of theory and research related to current issues and future trends in organizational behaviour Demonstrate an understanding of the links between individual behaviour and its social and organizational context. Diagnose and develop constructive proposals for dealing with work issues from an organizational behaviour perspective Exhibit analytical skills and apply theories to discuss different organizational contexts.

Summary

The course is designed to provide students with basic understanding of human behaviour as a key element in the creation of effective organizational environment. The focus is on the three elements of organizational behaviour studies that is a) behaviour of individuals in organizations b) group behaviour in organizations and c) how these behaviours influence the overall performance of organizations. Two broad lines of argument are followed, micro organization theories and issues, including individual and group behavior, leadership, motivation, rewards and reinforcements, job design, stress management, performance evaluation and communication on the one hand and macro organization theories and issues, including goals, organizational design, organizational development, the impact of technology and the market, and international organizational culture on the other hand.
