Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
To acquire theoretic knowledge and skils in the sphere of management, planning and making decisions with accent on social conditions of these processes. To understand the connections of the influence and changes of the environment upon he organization, on planning of its strategy, structure and human resources with respect to its goals. To learn basic observatins from management, motivation and leading of people. To understand the issue of company culture, its dependence on the society culture, the role of an individual in an organization and to acquire the knowledge needed for diagnostics and implementation of changes in the company culture.

Summary
The sociology of management is based on the sociallly psychological prerequisites of management as well as on the roles of the manager. It accents the effect of human factor on planning, organizing and decision making in a company. It deals with managing, motivating and stimulating people in the organization. It focuses at the issue of company culture from both the macro and microperspective and presents possibilities of its diagnostics and changes.

Subject syllabus:
1. Management. Interdisciplinary nature, relation to other disciplines. Apllication in practice.
2. Theory and practice of management. – basic stages of the management development and management systems. Postmodern approaches. Management functions.
3. Theory of a firm. Company as a production, economic and social unit. Strategy, structure and cultural environment of companies. Designing and development of an organisation (classic and neoclassic).
4. Social system of an organization, Social potential, social structure, activities, activities, functions. Social and working group, team and organization. Components of social system: abilities, social and psychological needs, relationships, education possibilities, communication, variability of work.
5. Man in an organization. . Whyte´s organizational man, typology; personality features, , attitudes, values, motives of labor activity, job satisfaction.
6. Origin of an organization – goal and strategic tendencies. Grouping, integration and cooperation of activities,. Definition of the role, responsibility, competence. Hierarchic structures..
7. Personality, properties and role of a manager. Management pyramid and prevailing activities. Self-management and carrier.
8. Motivation, leadership, mission and goals of an organization. Theory of personality, groups, situation, transaction and transformation styles of leadership (Fiedler, Vroom, Bass). Coaching.
9. Creating of efficient teams – choice, leadership, evaluation methods, development of motivation, problem solving and making decisions. . Team cooperation.

10. Project management. Structure of employees, recruitment and choice, process of integration into the organization. Adaptation, education, carrier.
11. Company culture, its elements (values, imaginations, approaches) and types. Relationship between strategy, organizational structure and company culture. Company culture of international companies.
12. Model of controlled change – strategic analysis, diagnosis, , categorization of powers, creation of a model of change. Innovation in the organizational architecture, strategic alliances, decentralization, slim structures.
13. Macroorganization and globalization. Postmodern organization (net and virtual) and their management.
14. Analyses of a social system (structural, dynamic).
