Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
The aim is to create a grounding of general and professional language with respect to communication skills, i.e. reading, writing, speaking, and listening with the output level B2-C1 (full-time) and B1-B2 (part-time) of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Summary
The lessons focus on mastering the lexicon, grammar, and phraseology within the given scope. Students will acquire complex language skills, they will be able to use terminology related to the course topics, so that they will be able to apply them once they are working as professionals within an international working environment.
Students will be able to discuss the types and uses of biomaterials in biomedicine, deepen their vocabulary and knowledge of the cardiovascular and nervous systems, and be able to describe and explain the principles of how medical devices are used to measure the relevant parameters of the heart (ECG) and brain (EEG). Students will deepen their knowledge of the principles of forming compound words whose use is typical of professional language. They will also become familiar with idiomatic expressions the acquisition of which can enhance their spoken English.
