Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The course aims to deepen general language knowledge and to create the foundations of professional English within all language skills, i.e. speaking, writing, reading and listening with the output level of B2-C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

Summary

Students will and acquire vocabulary related to the environment, business alliances and employee's performance feedback. The course also focuses on language for job relocation and secondment, students will be able to apply conflict avoidance strategies. The grammar section covers the use of past perfect, present perfect and future perfect tenses and working with past modal verbs. Students will learn to change the word order in sentences emphasize important information and apply formal language to write parts of final reports. An important part of the course is the practical application of language skills. Students will work on presenting arguments, preparing proposals and presenting them, including using appropriate phrasing.

Other requirements

- active participation in the lessons - compulsory attendance - 80 % - working out of assigned tasks - passing e-learning course successfully (75% each module) Students are required to learn the given vocabulary and be familiar with the grammatical phenomena discussed in the seminars. Students will master both vocabulary and knowledge needed for their future careers. Teachers will check the progress by tests. Required level of English: B2 - C1

Business Partner B2+: Units 4 – 6 1 Vocabulary - environment 2 Present perfect, Future perfect, Past perfect 3 Presentation of arguments 4 Vocabulary - permanent and temporary relocation of employees 5 Phrases and procedure for writing a proposal 6 Presentation – phrases for presenting arguments 7 Changing the word order in sentences 8 Vocabulary – feedback on the employee's work performance 9 Vocabulary - trade alliances 10 Past modal verbs 11 Vocabulary - avoiding conflict 12 Formal expressions for writing part of the final report 13 Credit test The teacher reserves the right to modify, supplement and make changes, should the need arise.
