Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
Acquiring enriched vocabulary and the necessary grammar for oral and written communication in Russian at intermediate level. Practising the phrases for telephone conversation. Perfecting the ability to hold a monologue/dialogue about everyday topics.
The aim is to acquire language skills with the output level A2-B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Summary
The subject links up to language skills in Russian acquired at secondary school. Its aim is to enrich the vocabulary, develop the knowledge of grammar structures necessary for oral and written communication and to use them in everyday situation at intermediate level. The instruction includes practising communication on the phone. The aim is to acquire language skills with the output level A2-B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Subject syllabus:
Russian for self-learners and perpetual beginners. Units 1-10.
1. Introductions (Знакомство). The Russian sentence. Personal pronouns. Nationalities. Addressing. What is your name?
2. How are you? (Как дела?). The declension of singular masculine nouns ending in a hard consonant. The infinitive forms of the Russian verbs and past tense. Polite forms of address.
3. My family (Моя семья). The declension of singular feminine nouns ending in a hard consonant. Cardinal numbers 0-20 in the first case. Negation. The verb to have.
4. What? Where? When? (Что? Где? Когда?). The declension of singular neuter nouns ending in a hard consonant. The conjugation of the verb to be. Formation of the future tense of imperfective verbs. Intonation in questions. Russian middle names (patronymics). How old are you?
5. What are you going to do? (Какие у вас планы?). Days of a week. Time expressions. Cardinal numbers 30-199 in the first case. Using the noun hour (час). First conjugation verbs читать, гулять. Conjugation of the verb идти.
6. In Prague (в Праге). Adjectives in nominative. Conjugation of verbs: хотеть, ехать. Possible uses of the word когда. Conjugation of verbs пойти, зайти, пройти аnd прийти. Seasons and months. Dialogues.
7. In a restaurant (В ресторане). Inanimate indeclinable nouns. Use of the word туда. Declination of personal pronouns. Conjugation of verbs сказать, ходить. Conjugation of verbs like говорить.
8. Where will we live? (Где мы будем жить?). Declination of singular soft nouns. Conjugation of verbs жить, мочь. Preposition „o“ with a word beginning in a vowel.
9. Leisure (Свободное время). Conjucation of verbs –овать/- евать. Conjugation of reflexive verbs. Declination of singular possessive pronouns. Declination of singular feminine nouns ending in a soft consonant. Talking about hobbies.
10. How can I get to…? (Как добраться...?). Expressing need/neccessity in Russian. Conjugation of verbs искать, вернуть/вернуться. Use of infinitive sentences. Formation of adverbs. Expression of approximity.
