Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The main objective of the course is to create a grounding of business and technical English concerning communication skills, i.e. reading, writing, speaking, and listening with the output level B2-C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. More emphasis will be put on mastering soft skills and working with technical texts.

Teaching methods



Technology 2 The instruction focuses on managing vocabulary, grammar phrases within the set range and preparing for a presentation. A student talks about famous agricultural inventions, he/she is able to describe their functions, characterizes basic technologies for testing fruit, distinguishes constructions of bridges, discusses properties of plastic. International Express Upper-intermediate WS 2020/21 Students will demonstrate the acquisition of complex language skills, will be able to use terminology related to the main topics of the course. They will be able to apply appropriate conversational strategies, to perform a small talk, to describe various rules and regulations, they will learn to write a report and they will be aquainted with good workplace manners. They will also master the skills related to working with technical texts.

Other requirements

Active participation during tutorials, the completion of assigned written and oral tasks, translation of technical texts, terminology testing, 80% attendance, min. test result: 65 %. Students are required to translate the given texts and learn new vocabulary based on them. Students will master both vocabulary and knowledge needed for their future careers. Teachers will check the progress by tests.
