Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
The course aims to deepen general language knowledge and to create the foundations of professional English within all language skills, i.e. speaking, writing, reading and listening with the output level of B2-C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

Summary
The lessons focus on mastering the lexicon, grammar, and phraseology within the given scope. Students will acquire complex language skills, they will be able to use terminology related to the course topics, so that they will be able to apply them once they are working as managing professionals within an international working environment.
A student will be able to discuss discoveries and inventions (smart wells, lasers) using the present perfect continuous tense, learn to use terminology appropriate for describing a product´s specifications and properties, and also write a product recall report using the correct terms.
As part of the course, students also work with online lecture modules created for selected professional texts according to the faculty's focus and thus develop their knowledge of terminology in their field.

Other requirements
Active participation during tutorials, the completion of assigned written and oral tasks, translation of technical texts, terminology testing, 80% attendance, min. test result: 65 %.
Students are required to translate the given texts and learn new vocabulary based on them. Students will master both vocabulary and knowledge needed for their future careers. Teachers will check the progress by tests.
