Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
The subject represents the contribution of new technologies, materials and technical equipment in sports training and sports games with the purpose of increasing performance. Modern technologies for managing and controlling sports training with regard to health and performance aspects are also presented. Theoretical and practical applications are demonstrated on selected sports games and sports, respectively on selected athletic and gymnastic disciplines. From a practical point of view, the concepts of use in the coaching profession and the necessity of changes with respect to the advent of modern technologies and techniques are demonstrated, from the point of view of planning, diagnostics and testing.

Předmět prezentuje aktuální témata nových technologií, materiálů a techniky využívaných ve vybraných sportovních odvětvích z oblasti sportovních her a individuálních sportů. Jsou prezentovány nejnovější poznatky aplikací posledních trendů v materiálech s aplikací do oblasti sportovního tréninku a sportovních her. Také nové technologie a metody s následným využitím v konkrétním sportu.

Subject syllabus:
1. Introduction to the issue, familiarization with the content and credit requirements
2. Development of new materials I. (skis, hockey sticks/skates, soccer balls)
3. Development of new materials II. (jumping poles, spears, canoes/kayaks/paddles/oars, swimwear)
4. Development of new materials III.: differences in the approach of individual and team sports - "tailored" preparation for a wide range of athletes
5. IT technologies in sports – technologies beneficial to the athletes themselves and their training process (heart rate monitors, virtual reality, trainers, pressure chambers and high altitude simulators)
6. IT technology in sports – technology beneficial to the athletes themselves and their training process (lasers, pressure chambers and high altitude simulators, automoto – air tunnels, computer simulations)
7. IT technology in sports – technology beneficial to data analysis and preparation of the training process and tactics (artificial intelligence, GPS locators, radars, camera systems, air tunnels, use of the Internet in sports training)
8. IT technology and the use of 3D in sports
9. Environmentalism in sport - use of technology to save energy
10. Environmentalism in sport - use of technology to protect the environment
11. Environmental studies in sport – the influence of transnational and national sports organizations and events (IOC, associations, Olympic Games, WC)
