Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
The main goal of the course is to acquaint with basic principles of problem solving using computers and to master the standard programs that make it possible to solve problems. The students are learned to use functions in programs Excel and Matlab and to make up their original functions. The part of the course is devoted to proposing algorithms and programing.

Summary
The course extends PC experiences and using of internet. The students master to use internet sources and solve special problems that arise in the other courses of their study. Namely the following themes are presented: making of own web-pages; computations with fundamental mathematical functions; plotting of curves and surfaces; solving of linear systems, computations of inverse matrices and determinants. The standard programs Excel and Matlab are used during the course. The part of the course is devoted to basic of making algorithms and programing.
