• to solve planimetric and stereometric tasks with the help of computer • to know how to characterize geometric curves and surfaces by synthetic and also analytic way • to acquaint with geometric and physical principles of 3D modeling

Summary

The course combines geometric and computer disciplines - planimetry, stereometry, analytic geometry, 3D modeling, computer graphics and programming. In the exercise there is used free software GeoGebra and POV-Ray.

Way of continuous check of knowledge in the course of semester

Zápočtové a zkušební požadavky Podmínky udělení zápočtu - jedinou podmínkou je prokazatelně odvedená práce na semestrálním projektu Semestrální projekt - vytvoření animované videosekvence dle vlastního námětu pomocí programu POV-Ray - námětem se myslí pokud možno reálná scéna s několika objekty ve vhodné kompozici - na jednom námětu může spolupracovat až 2-členný tým - u výtvoru v prostředí programu POV-Ray se hodnotí: vhodná volba geometrických objektů, úroveň provedení jejich vnějšího vzhledu, užití množinových operací CSG, realizace většího počtu stejných nebo podobných objektů pomocí programátorských direktiv (užití cyklů, podmínek apod.), přehlednost zdrojového kódu (užití poznámek), parametrizace objektů ve scéně (vhodné názvy parametrů), výsledná animace - celkově se hodnotí: nápad, užití co největšího počtu probraných objektů a možností, užití neprobraných objektů a možností (vlastní iniciativa) Zkouška - zkouška bude rozdělena na dvě části a je možno ji absolvovat v jednom řádném a dvou opravných termínech - praktická část - obhajoba semestrálního projektu - teoretická otázka Bodové hodnocení - praktická část zkoušky je hodnocena max. 80 body, minimálně je nutné získat 25 bodů - u teoretické části lze dosáhnout max. 20 bodů, minimálně je potřeba mít aspoň 5 bodů - celkové hodnocení se řídí standardní tabulkou body známka 86-100 1 výborně 66-85 2 velmi dobře 51-65 3 dobře 0-50 4 nevyhověl(a)

Subject syllabus:

1st block Basic geometric objects (point, line, plane), terms and constructions Planimetry - properties and constructions of triangles (altitudes, medians, angles, identity mappings, inscribed circle, add to trapezium), homothety (tangent of two circles, triangle inscribed to square) Conics - derived from right circular conical surface, the definition and construction of an ellipse, a hyperbola and a parabola Kinematic Geometry - elliptical and cadioidical motion, conchoidical and cyclical movements 2nd block Stereometry - cuts of a cube and other solids Introduction to PovRAY, basic elements of the scene (camera, light, background) Basic solids (sphere, cylinder, cone, cuboid) Colors, textures Transformations (translation, rotation, scaling) Set operations (union, intersection, difference) Creating of a realistic static scene PovRay programming (variables, while loop, mathematical function) Implicit surfaces (BLOB) Creating dynamically generated static scene Animation (clock variables and framenumber, controlling of animated objects trajectories) Realistic animation of static scene
